Margins
MARGINS
It's not just eccentrics experiencing difficulty with vocabulary
looking for sounds in peach-blue clouds and turquoise winds
nor the webbed cripple with well-deep glasses
dark-rimmed in concentration smiling as he shuffles
bustled by college students at dusk,
but the irresolute margins of those who defy proximity
and will not knit or lie in place,
only weave and wear their edges in debate
whispering in tangled silence so sweetly and kindly their air
that I wonder why I cannot fathom their thread.
